Various grades of russet gold and dark sandy gold, the ears may be a little darker, otherwise the color must be uniform throughout.
Ending in a rounded V, slightly shorter than the shorthaired Vizsla.
Set at medium height, strong at the base, tapering to the tip.
Wiry, close, strong, dense and matte. Topcoat measuring an inch long more or less, dense, water resistant undercoat.
The Wirehaired Vizsla was created by cross-breeding the shorthaired Vizsla and the German Wirehaired Pointer during the 1930’s. It has the same breed characteristics as shorthaired Vizslas. These efficient, versatile dogs, which are able to point and retrieve, are happy hunters, working to the gun, even in water.
